Position Summary
The Analytical Chemist II performs activities to design, develop, qualify and validate analytical methods for the characterization, release testing and stability testing of for projects that include P-R&D, Chemical Manufacturing and Contract Analytical Services. You will be responsible for developing analytical tools for determining impurities, purity and/or assay of starting materials, intermediates, in-process and final products.
Responsibilities will include:
• Supporting spectroscopic, chromatographic, and wet chemical analysis techniques.
• Safe operation of the instruments
• Compliance of safety and quality assurance program
• Understanding client’s requirements for analysis, quality and reporting
• Writing routine and investigative reports
• Perform testing using established SOPs, Work Instruction or client specified procedures
• Development of new analytical methodology to meet client’s project objectives
• Understanding the accuracy and uncertainty of results
• Identifying obstacles related to providing timely and quality services
• Performing client directed investigations when necessary
• Review other Analyst work for completeness and accuracy
• Work with Quality Assurance Group on:
o CAPA investigations
o Client, regulatory and internal driven audits
o Traceability of measurements
o Control of Non-Conforming Testing and Retesting
• Participation in company team initiatives to enhance continuous improvement
Required Experience & Knowledge
• B.S. degree in a physical science discipline (Preferably Chemistry or Biochemistry) with a minimum of 3 years applicable laboratory experience, M.S. degree in a physical science (Preferably Chemistry or Biochemistry) with a minimum of 1-year applicable laboratory experience
• ISO 17025:2005 or other quality management program exposure preferred
• 5 years’ experience working as a R&D or contract analytical chemist preferred.
• Experience in wet-chemistry, compendial testing, mass spectrometry (MS), chromatography, inductively coupled plasma – optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analysis, FT-IR and UV-Vis. spectrophotometry

The salary range for the position of Maintenance Manager is $72,000 - $80,000. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law.
This salary range is provided in good faith and is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for all statewide locations across the United States. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.
