Position Summary
The selected candidate is responsible for execution and support of strategic sourcing and procurement activities, including supplier and toller management, cost optimization initiatives, compliance execution, process improvement and reporting, ensuring uninterrupted supply and regulatory adherence, and MIS reporting while working closely with cross‑functional stakeholders.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Robust sourcing and execution for raw materials, intermediates, solvents, chemicals and packaging materials.
- Sourcing and coordination of tolling partners (3rd party manufacturing) and logistics service providers.
- Execute sourcing activities for logistics, warehousing, CHA, freight and other services under defined strategy.
- Support category strategies and alternate sourcing initiatives aligned with cost and risk objectives.
Supplier, Vendor & Toller Management
- Effective supplier and toller identification, qualification, onboarding and data management.
- Support supplier performance tracking on cost, quality, delivery and compliance parameters.
- Coordinate with QA / Regulatory teams for vendor audits, approvals and documentation.
- Support supplier risk identification and alternate supplier development initiatives and build strong supplier relationships.
Procurement Planning & Execution
- Execute procurement plans aligned to demand, production schedules and inventory targets.
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials and services while monitoring lead times and MOQ constraints.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing and Logistics teams for execution readiness.
Cost Optimization & Commercial Execution
- Effective commercial negotiations, rate finalization and contract execution under guidance.
- Execute cost optimization initiatives including benchmarking, alternate sourcing and savings tracking.
- Track market movements and support analysis for cost improvement actions.
Compliance, Quality & Regulatory Alignment
- Ensure procurement execution complies with GMP, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain procurement documentation including MSDS, CoA, specifications and change controls.
- Support internal, customer and regulatory audits with complete traceability and documentation.
Process Development & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and implement defined procurement processes, SOPs and governance frameworks.
- Process improvements, standardization and ERP / SAP discipline.
- Develop & maintain procurement dashboards, MIS and trackers for reporting
Risk Management & Supply Assurance
- Support proactive identification of supply and commercial risks.
- Execute mitigation actions including alternate sourcing and follow‑ups during disruptions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
- Act as operational procurement interface with Sales, Manufacturing, QA, Planning, Finance and Logistics teams.
- Prepare procurement MIS, Cost analysis, savings reports and operational updates for management review.
Reporting & Analytics
- Maintain procurement MIS, dashboards, and cost analysis reports
- Track KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, and lead time
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain, Operations, or Business
- MBA / Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain / Operations preferred
Experience
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in Procurement / Strategic Sourcing
- Strong exposure to Pharma and/or Chemical manufacturing environment
- Proven experience managing direct & indirect procurement, tolling, and services sourcing
