Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Sales Head to lead our Lab Chemicals business in India in region. The role is responsible for driving consistent execution of business strategies, delivering double-digit sales growth, and increasing market share across key markets and customers. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, commercial acumen, and a passion for sales excellence and execution.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Business Growth & Strategy Execution
• Drive double-digit sales growth through effective planning and execution.
• Ensure consistent execution of business strategies across designated region.
• Translate organizational strategy into local tactical action plans.
• Deliver profitable business growth with strong focus on margins and sustainability.
2. Market & Customer Development
• Increase market share in key markets and strategic customer segments.
• Build and strengthen relationships with key customers, institutions, and stakeholders.
• Identify new business opportunities and drive penetration in untapped segments.
3. Distributor & Channel Management
• Lead and optimize distributor management to ensure strong market coverage and efficiency.
• Drive distributor performance through clear targets, engagement, and capability building.
• Ensure alignment of channel partners with business goals and execution priorities.
4. Sales Excellence & Execution
• Foster a culture of sales excellence, execution discipline, and accountability.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive corrective actions to meet business objectives.
• Ensure effective forecasting, pipeline management, and review mechanisms.
5. People Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team.
• Drive people management initiatives including capability building, performance management, and engagement.
• Instil a high-energy, disciplined, result-oriented, and collaborative team culture.
6. Market Intelligence
• Gather and leverage market intelligence on competitors, pricing, customer trends, and regulatory environment.
• Provide insights to refine strategies and strengthen market positioning.
Education:
• Graduate / Postgraduate in Science; MBA is preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum 10-12 years of work experience in handling specialty chemicals portfolio
• Strong experience in B2B sales, preferably in lab chemicals, life sciences, or related industries.
• Hands on experience in team building and organization transformation from commercial
/ sales standpoint.
• Proven track record in driving sales growth and market share expansion.
• Demonstrated ability in strategy execution and tactical planning.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
