Position Summary
The successful candidate will support end-to-end Demand & Supply Planning activities across pharma and chemical product portfolios to ensure timely material availability, optimum inventory levels, and uninterrupted customer service. This role acts as an execution-focused planning partner, translating sales forecasts and business requirements into feasible production, procurement, and supply plans. The role involves close coordination with Sales, Production, Procurement, QA/QC, Regulatory, Packaging, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to align supply plans with business requirements and operational capacities. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Demand Planning & Forecast Support

  • Support preparation and maintenance of rolling demand forecasts based on historical data, sales inputs, and market trends
  • Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service teams to validate forecasts and confirm demand priorities
  • Track forecast accuracy, demand variations, and forecast changes; highlight risks and variances

Supply Planning & Execution Readiness

  • Convert demand plans into feasible supply plans considering manufacturing capacity, lead times, batch sizes, and constraints
  • Prepare and execute Master Production Schedules (MPS) aligned with demand, inventory policies, and available capacity
  • Raise purchase indents and support procurement of raw materials, intermediates, and packaging materials in line with production plans
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Procurement, QA/QC, Packaging, Logistics, and Stores to ensure on-time material readiness

Third-Party Manufacturing & External Coordination

  • Coordinate planning and execution with third-party manufacturers / tollers to ensure timely product availability
  • Support third-party contract renewals and ensure availability of required licenses and documentation for manufacturing
  • Review and validate monthly third-party manufacturing service bills for processing and payment

Inventory, Service Level & Working Capital Management

  • Monitor inventory levels across Raw Material (RM), WIP, and Finished Goods (FG) to meet service targets
  • Identify and track slow-moving, excess, obsolete, and expiry-risk inventory and propose action plans
  • Support monitoring of OTD / OTIF performance and conduct root-cause analysis for service deviations
  • Balance service level requirements with inventory holding cost and compliance constraints

S&OP and IBP

  • Initiate and execute monthly S&OP / IBP cycles including demand review, supply review, and executive alignment.
  • Prepare scenarios and trade-offs for leadership decision-making (service vs cost vs risk).
  • Highlight risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans related to capacity, inventory, and service.
  • Ensure alignment between commercial demand, supply capability, and financial targets.

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Change Management

  • Coordinate New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including trials, validation, scale-up, and readiness planning
  • Support cross-functional alignment for new products covering materials, capacity, documentation, and regulatory readiness
  • Support creation, review, and maintenance of Bill of Materials (BOMs) and routing data in SAP

Regulatory, Quality & Compliance Support

  • Ensure planning decisions adhere to GMP requirements, regulatory approvals, shelf-life, and stability constraints
  • Coordinate with QA and Regulatory teams to avoid supply disruptions due to compliance gaps
  • Support ISO audits, BIS certification, and customer audits by providing planning data, documentation, and traceability
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by providing planning data and documentation

Systems, Reporting & Analytics

  • Maintain planning master data accuracy including BOMs, lead times, MOQ, batch sizes, and inventory parameters
  • Use ERP systems (SAP preferred) for planning, tracking, and execution support
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on service level, inventory, production plans, planning adherence and third-party operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes, reporting standardization, and data discipline

 

Education

Bachelor’s / Master’s in Supply Chain, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Operations, or Business

Experience

  • 5-8 years of experience in Supply Chain Planning or Operations roles
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical / Chemical manufacturing environment preferred
  • Exposure to plant-based SCM planning/operations is an advantage
  • Strong understanding of GMP/Quality systems, Shelf-life & batch manufacturing and Regulatory constraints in planning

  • Understanding of QA/QC release processes and compliance impact on supply
  • Knowledge of packaging & labeling workflows in Pharma/Chemicals
