Department: Europe Speciality Chemicals Sales

Start Date: ASAP

Work Hours: 40 hours p/w Monday to Friday

Location: Dusseldorf, Germany

Work Environment: Hybrid Role

 

Position Summary

Account Manager responsibilities include developing strong long-term relationships with a portfolio of clients, connecting with key stakeholders to maintain current business and develop further sales. Account Managers liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure all client needs are met for best experience of the clients dealing with Actylis. The Account Manager position has own budget responsibility and will be required to meet the company expectations.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ability to generate, qualify, and prospect leads for creating opportunities with support of Procurement and Marketing
  • Prospect via internet leads, cold-calling, networking events, tradeshows, events/seminars etc.
  • Develop sales to new and existing customers with a constantly expanding product portfolio
  • Call/present/travel to direct customers in Europe
  • Schedule phone calls, webinar presentations and video conferencing with prospects and customers
  • Communicate and build customer relationships
  • Manage Sales, CRM pipeline proactively, recognizing customers' stage in the decision cycle and setting action to the next step
  • Ability to cross sell customers with greater potential into larger sales
  • Strategic negotiation with procurement & supply chain departments
  • Understand territory market situation & industry needs of current accounts, prospects, competitors, and suppliers
  • Work with Customers & Actylis Operations/Internal Stakeholders on any quality, technical & regulatory requirements to solve upcoming challenges across existing product portfolio and for introducing new products to the market.
  • Find suitable solutions for our customer needs and challenges
  • Understand customer objectives, needs, and profitability drivers

Required Experience & Knowledge

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience as account / sales manager or relevant experience in the specialty chemicals market.
  • Proven results of delivering client solutions and meeting sales goals.
  • Scientific background in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering ideally or commercial background minimum Master level.

  • In-depth understanding of value chain and key players within related market space.
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, eager to expand the company with new sales.
  • Able to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with ability follow-through on client contracts.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently, project management skills.
  • English fluent
