Position Summary
The Facilities Manager plays a crucial role in our organization’s success, overseeing the comprehensive management of our manufacturing facilities located in Ogden (60,000 sq ft.) and Centerville (20,000 sq ft.). This position is responsible for leading sanitation and maintenance teams to ensure that both the facilities and manufacturing machinery are maintained in optimal working condition and in compliance with GMP standards, while fostering a safe and productive environment able to meet site goals and objectives. The Facilities Manager collaborates with multiple department heads on various projects and initiatives related to facilities and maintenance. Additionally, this role encompasses managing contractors and overseeing Capital Expenditure projects aimed at facility enhancements and processing equipment improvements for both expansion and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities will include:

- Facility Management: Oversee daily operation of sanitation and maintenance activities within both manufacturing plants, ensuring that all activities are conducted correctly and in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Conduct regular inspections to assess and maintain the condition of buildings, machinery, equipment and grounds. Develop and maintain proper sanitation protocols in accordance with GMP standards.
- Maintenance Oversight: Supervise maintenance teams, coordinating schedules and prioritizing tasks to minimize production downtime. Utilize Manager Plus software to implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities.
- Project Management: Manage Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Projects related to facility upgrades, expansion, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
- Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the facilities budget, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Monitor resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with department heads to align facilities operations with production and organizational goals. Communicate effectively with all levels of staff regarding facility operations, maintenance issues and safety protocols.
- Vendor and Contractor Management: Oversee and manage relationships with external service providers and contractors, ensuring effective service agreements are in place. Negotiate contracts and monitor the quality of work performed by vendors including but not limited to drain technicians, HVAC specialists, dust control technicians, roll up door contractors, waste management providers, and machinery service providers.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within facilities management. Implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, safety and environmental sustainability.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, sanitation activities, inspections, and compliance audits. Prepare reports for management on facility performance, equipment performance, and compliance metrics.
Required Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in facilities management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a GMP-compliant setting.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation standards and practices in the food or nutraceutical industry.
- Proven experience in managing maintenance teams and overseeing CapEx projects with contractors.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.

Work Environment
- This position is based within busy manufacturing facilities, emphasizing safety, efficiency and continuous improvement.
- May require occasional overtime and on-call availability for emergency situations.
