Position Summary
The Production Team Lead is responsible for supervising a team of production workers, ensuring that all manufacturing processes are executed according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). This position requires a thorough understanding of all manufacturing functions and processes along with the ability to effectively communicate and enforce company standards. Team Leads are also responsible for keeping the team focused and aligned with departmental goals and must step in to cover for team members during absences, breaks, or when staffing levels are insufficient to meet departmental performance goals. Additionally, the Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that all employees on their team receive adequate training in all aspects of the production process.
Responsibilities will include:

- Team Management: Independently oversee a team of manufacturing assistants.
- Production Oversight: Manage production processes, including formulation checks, physical weighing and measuring, and real-time monitoring of manufacturing and quality documentation completion.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records, including batch formulation verification, cleaning logs, raw material sampling, retained sample library and ensuring accuracy of labels.
- Machinery Proficiency: Skilled in operating all equipment used in the production process, including blenders, Fitz mill grinders, ovens and oven racks, air collection and air handling systems, double cone blenders and scales. Must possess a comprehensive understanding of the entire production process, with the ability to identify potential safety hazards and discrepancies in manufacturing records. Must be capable of addressing and rectifying issues to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Liason Role: Serve as the communication link between manufacturing operators and management.
- Safety & EHS Compliance: Regularly monitor team members throughout the workday to ensure adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for the task being performed. Demonstrate a strong commitment to the company’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Protocols. Assist in conducting job observations and hazard analyses, ensuring that the team consistently follows all health and safety guidelines.
- ISO Compliance: Thorough understanding and implementation of Biotron’s DBA Actylis’s ISO standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Checklist Management: Ensure that checklists for production, cleaning, and equipment maintenance are accurately completed across all areas.
- Equipment Maintenance: Daily check equipment and machinery being used for maintenance needs and communicate with maintenance team and management for necessary maintenance. Train and ensure proper use of the equipment and machinery to avoid unnecessary downtime due to avoidable damage.
- Support Role: Provide leadership assistance in the absence of the Production Supervisor.
- Training: Ensure training is completed correctly for all manufacturing operators in all production areas.
Required Experience & Knowledge
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3-6 months of related experience and training.
Mathematical Skills:
- Proficient in basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to operate scales and interpret the values.
Communication and Development:
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work well with diverse individuals.
- Openness to additional training and opportunities for growth.
- Ability to adapt and collaborate effectively with a variety of personalities.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously and under stressful circumstances.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
Certifications:
- Forklift certification and completion of annual GMP and safety training required.
Physical Demand

- Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
- Adequate vision for close-up, peripheral, and depth perception, along with the ability to adjust focus.
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting, and maneuvering of drums, products, and equipment.
