Position Summary

The Senior Logistics Coordinator coordinates and assists with the day-to-day execution of logistics operations, ensuring goods move efficiently through inbound, warehousing, and outbound distribution processes. This role provides leadership and guidance to the logistics team while working closely with Customer Service, Sales, Operations, Procurement, Warehousing, and third-party logistics providers to deliver strong customer service and operational excellence.

The Senior Logistics Coordinator also provides guidance and support to logistics representatives and serves as an escalation point for complex logistics issues.

Responsibilities will include:

Logistics Operations

  • Coordinate and assist daily inbound and outbound logistics activities/tasks to meet operational needs.
  • Perform hands-on execution of inbound and outbound logistics activities.
  • Manage transportation planning, shipment execution, tracking, and delivery follow-up.
  • Oversee import and export activities, including customs documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, warehouses, and 3PL providers.
  • Resolve shipment delays, delivery issues, inventory discrepancies, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Ensure accurate transportation and logistics documentation is maintained.
  • Monitor key logistics performance metrics, including OTIF, lead times, freight costs, service levels, and inventory flow.
  • Support customs, import/export, and trade compliance activities where applicable.

Inventory & Warehouse Coordination

  • Collaborate with warehouse partners to ensure inventory accuracy and product availability.
  • Support inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory activities.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances.
  • Monitor warehouse KPIs and service-level performance.
  • Coordinate product returns, destruction activities, and reverse logistics processes including returns to suppliers

Customer Service & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Act as the primary logistics contact for key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support customer satisfaction by ensuring timely order fulfillment and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales teams to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Escalate critical service issues and implement corrective actions.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track and analyze logistics performance indicators including:
    • OTIF (On-Time In-Full)
    • Freight Cost
    • Lead Times
    • Carrier Performance
    • Inventory Accuracy
    • Warehouse Service Levels
  • Prepare operational reports and recommendations for management.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead initiatives to improve logistics efficiency, service quality, and cost management.
  • Support implementation of transportation and warehouse process improvements.
  • Participate in SOP development, process standardization, and system enhancements.
  • Contribute to CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) activities when required.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide coaching, training, and guidance to Logistics Coordinators and other team members.
  • Support the onboarding and development of new employees.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex logistics and transportation issues.
  • Share best practices and promote operational excellence across the logistics team.

Core Task Allocation & Percentages

  • Execution of inbound logistics tasks (20%)
  • Execution of outbound logistics tasks (40%)
  • Coordination of all logistics tasks (20%)
  • Others as described (20%)

Required Experience & Knowledge

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional supply chain certification (ASCM/APICS, CSCMP, or equivalent) is considered an asset.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, supply chain operations, or customer logistics.
  • Experience managing international shipments, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs processes.
  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, international trade, customs regulations, and import/export requirements.
  • Advanced ERP and supply chain systems experience (SAP, SAGE, Oracle, TMS, WMS, etc.).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with global teams and external logistics partners.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid or remote work environment, depending on business requirements.
  • Occasional travel to warehouses, distribution centers, carrier facilities, or customer locations may be required.
  • Ability to support global operations across multiple time zones when necessary.
