Position Summary


The position serves as the primary point of contact for generating Innovative API (iAPI) chemical sales from new and existing customers. This position also assists in setting the strategy for the Innovative API business at Actylis.  The customers include innovators and contract manufacturers of small molecule new chemical entity pharmaceuticals.

Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage iAPI Sales team, develop forecast for the iAPI business and update Management on Market conditions.
  • Develop new sales opportunities in products, customers, suppliers, and markets to drive sales and profit meeting company targets (exceeding the market).
  • Develop close working relationships with customers in order for Actylis to be their supplier of choice.
  • Persuasively present Actylis offer/solutions to customers.
  • Influence customers and diffuse potential problems.  Anticipate the customer’s needs and identifies appropriate alternatives.
  • Is comfortable moving between scientific discussions and financial conversations.
  • Prepare annual forecast for portfolio of products/clients and other forecasts as needed.
  • Manage Opportunities, accounts, contacts, leads, and write call reports covering details of visits to customers utilizing company systems such as Salesforce.com.
  • Work closely with internal resources to ensure timely proposal generation, smooth transactions and customer satisfaction.
  • Pursue efficiencies within department, especially when it comes to sharing of information.
  • Assist AR in recovering slow payments and resolving disputes.
  • Promote organization in industry and trade associations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


The salary range for the position of Associate Director, Innovative API is $170,000 - $200,000 per year. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law.

Required Experience & Knowledge

  • Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related degree
  • Ten to fifteen years related experience, in a commercial / selling business to business environment with signs of track record of growing sales.
  • Good computer skills
  • Experience with CRM software, especially Salesforce.com
  • Some understanding of synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and the pharmaceutical approval process.
  • Good communication skills

Work Environment
