Position Summary
This position plays a critical role in the East Region in sales, marketing, sales budgeting, risk management, efficiency measures, and customer satisfaction. There is a key emphasis on strategic customer acquisition and consultative product portfolio development. This position manages the Eastern region sales area, develops, and implements annual sales plans and expense budgets to achieve the company’s goals within assigned accountabilities.
The Director, Sales East Region for Actylis AgriScience leads the company’s involvement in the business across the assigned area. Develops and implements annual sales plans and expense budgets to achieve the company’s goals within assigned accountabilities. Included in this is leading go-to-market strategy, product development initiatives, customer activities, staffing and employment policies. The position will also be responsible for consolidating the projects planned to 2027 to facilitate the key areas needed to be achieved. Works closely with Director of Sales and Marketing, Director of Operations, Director of Product Development, and other Regional Sales Directors and General Manager for congruence in the strategy.
Responsibilities will include:
Customer Account Management
- Customer strategy and targeting in assigned geography and assigned customers.
- Participate in bi-monthly Level 10 meetings.
- Demand Planning.
Go-To-Market & Sales of ALS portfolio
- Expanding go-to-market strategy for eastern region, supporting corporate strategy.
- Maximizing opportunities with Tenkoz and CNI member companies, Helena and Nutrien Divisions.
- Achievement of sales revenue, gross profit, and contribution for assigned geography and customers per General Manager.
- Implementing sales process.
Actylis portfolio and marketing plan buildout
- Establishing price mechanism coordinated with ALS Marketing for all customers in geography.
- Managing overall inventory levels.
- Developing business plans by identifying new customers and decision makers across the Ag Chem space in the region.
- Identifying any new business opportunities by either technical, branded, or private label products.
- Implementing/Executing a developed EOP program that financially makes sense to the customer. Taking into consideration cash flow, APR, and product placement.
Business Development & Project Management
- Contributing to new product pipeline and portfolio development.
- Developing a system to monitor and facilitate the necessary items needed to develop a product for Actylis, sourcing, regulatory needs, investment, timing, formulation development, market access while working directly with Actylis team members to drive this priority pipeline as the owner / product manager.
- Working closely with Sales Support Team led by Director of Logistics to assist in AR, SAGE, CS and above all smooth transactions and customer satisfaction.
- Seeking ways to increase growth by developing market access as set by AgriScience Leadership.
- Acting as a SalesForce advocate and implementation within the Actylis AgriScience Team.
The salary range for the position of Sales Director, East is $160,000 - $190,000 per year. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law.
Required Experience & Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in business, management, economics, agricultural sciences or related field that would provide the base for success in the position is preferred.
- 10+ years of sales experience, agricultural industry preferred.
- Excellent and professional communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and computer presentation skills required.
- Ability to work effectively with management team, product development, sales, and other at the company, which includes communication, cooperation, and team effort.
- Agriculture background is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in sales and/or in leading a sales team.
- Excellent understanding and execution of Microsoft Office Suite of products preferred.
- Ability to travel overnight.
- Ability to provide input to Director, Marketing & Operations for tracking forecast and planning into the SAGE/back-office ERP system.
