Position Summary

 

The Operations Planner will be responsible for material planning and production readiness as it pertains to products sold by Agri Science team. This role will also have an emphasis on customer and sales support, managing inventory, cost reduction, driving efficiencies and other business-related processes ensuring the smooth operations for the AG business.  By overseeing and supporting these responsibilities, the Ag Operation Planner enables the company to drive improvement, deliver exceptional service and achieve its sales objectives.

Responsibilities will include:

Material Planning:

 

  • Tracking inbound supply orders for up-to-date timing for production/sales activity to begin.
  • Compiling and sharing product demand from sales teams to procurement/planning.
  • Planning and Staging required materials and indirect items to support AG Productions.
  • Performing Cost of Goods Sold calculations to support buying/selling decisions.
  • Generating and executing cost reduction activities to improve on current operating costs.
  • Performing back-flush inventory process to transact raw materials into sellable goods.

 

Customer Support and Order Fulfillment:

 

  • Liaising with cross-functional teams (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Regulatory) to ensure the seamless processing of orders, and on time deliveries.
  • Supporting planning for outbound shipments and load building to support customer orders domestically and internationally.  
  • Acting as a point of contact for internal inquiries related to sales processes and client accounts.
  • Addressing customer questions and assisting in resolving issues related to pricing, orders, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering prompt and professional support.

 

Toller (3rd Party Manufacturer) Management:

 

  • Managing production schedules at tollers to produce Ag products.
  • Scheduling and leading weekly production meetings with toller for active productions.
  • Evaluating and monitoring toller performance to support sales deliverables.
  • Addressing any open issues with toller/supplier to best of ability.
  • Supporting New Product Launch activities with toller.

 

 

The salary range for the position of Operations Planner is $75,000 - $100,000 per year. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law.

Required Experience & Knowledge

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in Material/Production Planning, Procurement or Customer Service.
  • Preferred experience in the Agri Chemical Industry.
  • Proficient with ERP Systems and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in developing time management strategies in a fast-paced environment, to ensure work is delivered within required timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Highly motivated, detail-orientated & results driven, with a focus on accuracy and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in English with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and work with minimum supervision.
  • Be a highly responsive, proactive team player while maintaining a positive & respectful attitude.
  • Effectively communicates with peers, interdepartmental
