Position Summary

This position will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless connectivity and security of our Server, Network and cloud environments for our offices located in Port Washington, NY, Buffalo, NY, Ogden, Utah, Eugene, Oregon and Montreal, Canada. Flexible support hours required for the different time zones of these locations. This position will leverage expertise in both traditional networking and cloud technologies to design, implement, and manage solutions that support our ever-evolving needs.

Responsibilities will include:

 

Network & Cloud Infrastructure:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain both on-premises and cloud-based network infrastructure (AWS, Azure preferred), some of which have strict change management protocols.
  • Oversee network device integrity, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Provide input as to the backup solutions used within networks.
  • Configure and manage network hardware, software, and configurations.
  • Implement and administer secure VPN connections.
  • Manage wireless environments (design and configuration).

 

Application Management:

  • Identify, implement, and maintain network and communication applications.
  • Develop and deliver in-service training on new applications.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of knowledgebase documents for knowledge transfer.

 

Problem-Solving and Support:

  • Be the first line of defense for troubleshooting network and application issues across all health system locations.
  • Provide guidance and direction to team members and external service technicians.
  • Analyze complex situations and propose effective solutions.

 

Innovation and Collaboration:

  • Participate in the review and design of new or existing network infrastructure and systems.
  • Assist in evaluating project requests and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve shared goals.

 

The salary range for the position of Sr. Network/Cloud Administrator is $110,000 - $115,000 per year. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law.

Required Experience & Knowledge

 

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong track record of success.
  • Expertise in both on-premises and cloud networking technologies (AWS, Azure preferred).
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and manage secure network solutions.
  • Strong understanding of network security best practices and protocols.
  • Systematic approach to proposing, evaluating, implementing and reviewing changes.
  • Experience with Cisco networking equipment (CCNA, CCNP preferred).
  • Experience with firewalls (Cisco ASA/FortiGate/Sophos preferred).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Superior communication and time management skills.
  • A team player with a collaborative and results-oriented attitude.
