Position Summary

 

The Vice President, Global Supply Chain Management will lead the strategic direction, design, and execution of the company’s end-to-end global supply chain across all regions, ensuring supply continuity, efficiency, and cost effectiveness in a highly regulated chemical raw material manufacturing environment. This senior leader will be responsible for overseeing planning, procurement, inventory management, logistics, distribution, and supplier relationship management. Reporting directly to the COO, this position plays a critical role in supporting the company’s growth objectives and maintaining operational excellence across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Responsibilities will include:

 

Global Supply Chain Strategy:

 

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive global supply chain strategy aligned with corporate goals, focusing on agility, resilience, and scalability.
  • Leading all supply chain functions globally, including demand planning, sourcing, procurement, production scheduling, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Establishing and implementing best-in-class supply chain processes and systems, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Partnering closely with Sales, Operations, Regulatory, Finance, and Quality teams to ensure alignment of supply capabilities with commercial priorities and regulatory obligations.
  • Serving as a key contributor to executive decision-making processes around capacity planning, capital investments, and global risk mitigation.

 

Operational Excellence & Performance Management:

 

  • Overseeing global logistics and transportation to ensure timely and compliant delivery of products across the full customer base.
  • Implementing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain performance, including service level, cost, lead time, and inventory turnover.
  • Driving cost optimization initiatives while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GMP, ISO standards).

 

Supplier Relationship Management:

 

  • Building and maintaining strategic relationships with global and regional suppliers, ensuring security of supply and alignment with sustainability and quality standards.
  • Leading vendor qualification, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management processes.

 

Systems, Technology, & Data:

 

  • Championing the implementation and optimization of ERP and digital supply chain solutions to enhance visibility, traceability, and planning accuracy.
  • Using data analytics to support scenario planning, demand forecasting, and real-time decision-making.

 

The salary range for the position of VP, Global Supply Chain Management is $200,000 - $250,000 per year. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law.

Required Experience & Knowledge

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in global supply chain leadership, preferably in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or life sciences manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-regional supply chains and delivering operational and financial performance.
  • Deep understanding of global trade, regulatory, and compliance considerations (including REACH, GMP, ISO certifications).
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate large, diverse teams across multiple regions. Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle) and supply chain planning tools.
  • Must be highly detail-oriented and organized, able to work both independently and as a team player with a positive attitude
  • Effectively communicate with peers, interdepartmental colleagues, and clients
  • Experience in developing time management strategies to ensure work is performed within required timelines
